corrie ten boom quote

I’ve been working on my anger. Thanks to the Bible, prayers, and healthy temper management techniques, I’ve seen some progress.

However, the Lord made it clear to me that I can’t treat the symptom and ignore the cause. Being angry at someone is the result of being unable to forgive.

So next time you find yourself all angry and upset at someone, keep in mind that you could forgive or you could choose not to forgive… then end up bitter and angry, which isn’t as fun as you’d think.

Forgiveness is an absolute necessity when it comes to obtaining and maintaining happiness.

  1. You are absolutely right. We can waste so much time being bitter about how we someone treated us, but if we would forgive, they would have no more power to hurt us.

  2. Have you read Corrie Ten Boom’s autobiography? It is a
really interesting story of what she and her family endured at the hands of the Nazi’s during world war 2. I read it way back in the nineteen sixties when I was te or eleven years old.

  3. That’s a good question. i struggle with that on the reg. I found out that it’s not love. True love doesn’t hate. Only obsession or possession or distorted love can hate.

I’ve had a hard time with this for a long time. So I think about Paul when he said “I am a prisoner of the Lord Jesus Christ.” He had rules of engagement for his enemies that he had to love them. Because he was once an enemy and was loved into his walk with God. But…is there such thing as someone who is unlovable?
