  1. “My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy whenever you face trials of any kind because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its full effect so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” –James 1.2-4

  2. KJ Smith says:

There’s an old Andrae Crouch song my dad used to sing. One of the verses says:

I thank God for the mountains,
And I thank Him for the valleys,
I thank Him for the storms He brought me through.
For if I’d never had a problem,
I wouldn’t know God could solve them,
I’d never know what faith in God could do.

    And the chorus says:

    Through it all,
    Through it all,
I’ve learned to trust in Jesus,
I’ve learned to trust in God.
    Through it all,
    Through it all,
I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.

I find myself singing this in my times of heartache and doubt. And I remember the promises of God’s Word that tell me He’s working all things for my good (Romans 8:28) and that my time of weeping is only temporary- joy comes in the morning! (Psalm 30:5b).
