Faith and Fitness

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. (Hebrews 10:36)

Greetings my beautiful brothers and sisters in Christ!

It’s been a hot minute since my last real post. However, I do have a confession. I’ve been kinda lazy in faith. Things have been going so well in my life. Promotion, money, commercialism, and all the shiny things that can distract us from what’s most important.

But the Lord is patient.

Thank goodness for that, amiright?

At my organization we’re doing a neat little fitness initiative to promote health and wellness.

And, oh, how similar faith and fitness are. Because they both come down to endurance and perseverance.

There will be ups.

There will be downs.

There will be distractions.

But the thing is to keep going.

Keep. Going.

  1. Simple smart and effective faith is kind of like a great ladder the ladder goes up and the ladder goes down the important thing is to climb IT is one rung at a time I think we have to be thankful for Good Times. And I think we have to be thankful for God times what I mean by God times is be thankful for the little points I think Paul said it best when suggesting we have to be ready in season and out of season that is how we become ineffective cryption and that is how we live the life and that is how we win souls for the Lord and not for our own Glory but God’s glory. Remember that in season and out of season be ready. Faith is like a ladder climb IT one rung at a time and God’s blessings and love fall upon you.

  2. One of my football coaches in high school once said: “You are either getting better or you are getting worse.” I’ve found that true not only in sports, but in studying and of course in faith as well. As soon as you stop working to improve, entropy sets in and you start getting worse. Every time.

  4. “…how similar faith and fitness are.” So True. And how quickly we give up on both when the going gets tough. I hate working out, so trying to get into shape has been the bane of my existence – especially since I had a baby. How quickly I give up when I feel the burn. And how quickly I’ve despaired when I’ve felt like God isn’t working or near by. Good reminder that there will be ups and downs, but hang on, it will be worth it!
