Every Burden

  1. Absolutely. However, the question arises specific to “what type of” eternity—Heaven or Hell. I think the real issue is allowing the burdens to re-direct us back to the Lord, who is the ONLY one truly capable of handling the burden on our behalf. That’s the lesson of burdens, I believe—to trust God with them as opposed to attempting to bear the weight ourselves.

The WORD provides support for this belief:

*Psalms 55:22 – Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

*Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

So, again, I agree that the “burden” prepares us for eternity. However, the state or condition of our eternal existence may very well be impacted by how we handle these burdens during the temporal existence we experience here on Earth.

I just wanted to leave a short comment here, and let you now how this has blessed me! It’s been a strenuous year, and burdens have been closer than ever… I saved this, from your blog, a while back, and looked at it many times throughout the last month. It has been such an encouragement, and blessing to me! 😀
I’m praying for you, Rae! God bless! †
