Prayer for 2018

Recently, I’ve started reciting and praying portions of the Bible. I believe the universe God created responds well to His Word- which holds power. For 2018, I pray Ephesians 3:14 – 19 for all those in Christ’s family:

I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have the power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

In Jesus’ holy name I pray,

Amen.

This is going to be the year for Christ’s people.

Have faith and watch what He does 🙂

  1. Our God recorded prayers in the Bible for good reason. The prayers recorded give us a window into the mind of Christ, and to pray according to the is effective. Same for the Psalms, most of which make excellent prayers. Thanks for getting this word out there, Rae!

    Have faith, step out and watch what He does. We all (me included) need to be careful that we don’t just sit back to see if God does something. Just like he said to Moses when he was telling the Israelites to watch what God would do when they had come to the Red Sea. God literally said, “Shut up Moses! Stop crying and you do something!” (paraphrase mine)
    I remember when I was a teenager, a youth preacher named Gregg Johnson came to our church and he used the phrase “When you move, He moves.” and then he would say, “And God’s quicker!”
    Beautiful prayer by the way. I love the book of Ephesians! I didn’t mean to shoot you down at all and I totally agree, I believe God’s going to do big things this year. I declared that to, on my Facebook feed, Gregory Peters Keepthelighton.

  3. Amen Rae! Thanks for the reminder…I had Ephesians 1:16-18 printed out and glued in the back cover of the little bible I used to carry in my purse. I left it at church one day and it’s been missing ever since. I hope whoever got it is blessed because it sure was a blessing to me. My first bible after being saved. I did it like this: Ephesians 1:16-18 (NLT) I have not stopped thanking God for ____. I pray for ____ constantly, asking God the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give ____spiritual wisdom and insight so that ____ might grow in his/her knowledge of God. I pray that ____’s heart will be flooded with light so that he/she can understand the confident hope He has given to those He has called-His rich and glorious inheritance.
    I think I’ll start using both of these this year…praying scripture is so powerful!
