Prayer for 2018

Recently, I’ve started reciting and praying portions of the Bible. I believe the universe God created responds well to His Word- which holds power. For 2018, I pray Ephesians 3:14 – 19 for all those in Christ’s family:

I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have the power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

In Jesus’ holy name I pray,

Amen.

This is going to be the year for Christ’s people.

Have faith and watch what He does 🙂

The Baby Mama of Noble Character

Christian women love comparing themselves to Proverbs 31. I think I would, too. Except Mrs. Proverbs 31 is a wife and I’m not. I’m a single mother. Some days it hurts knowing that I don’t have the perfect family. After all, no little girl says, “I wanna be a baby mama when I grow up.” But I do try to live a life as close to the Bible as possible.

Not just for me, but for my Nugget. I can’t raise her to love the Word if I’m living like a heathen. So I take the Bible and incorporate it into my life as best I can. Hoping that somewhere along the way my daughter will see the importance of following Christ. If I fail in every other area, at least she’ll have Jesus- which is really all she needs. Until then…

On Some *Real* Bible Study

I use a systematic approach to my Bible studies. It’s basically a more doper version of the Scripture, Observation, Application, Pray (SOAP) method. I call it the R.E.A.L. approach. Get it? Cuz my blog is Real as the Streets and my username is Real as Rae. Yeah, you get it lol.

Honestly, I’m just tired of seeing SOAP everywhere I turn. I mean really. Of all the acronyms in the world, soap?! “Hey let’s all use SOAP to study our Bible!” Smh.

Christ’s Love vs. God’s Law

Christianity is a faith of contradiction.

The reason is that we base our life on the Bible. Which has the Old Testament and the New Testament. Don’t get me wrong, there are certain themes that have strong consistency throughout the Good Book.

But the Old Testament includes books of the Torah:

  • Genesis
  • Exodus
  • Leviticus
  • Numbers
  • Deuteronomy

So mixing aspects of the religion of Judaism with Christianity. Well, it can be a bit messy.
